Joseph’s life has never been normal.  It has consisted of many twists and turns which is a commonality that is shared with many of today’s youth.  Joseph has suffered losses of friends to street gangs, suicide, drugs, and incarceration.  For these reasons he has dedicated his life to reaching youth through the spoken word.  Joseph’s messages of finding hope in what seem to be hopeless situations have been very instrumental in the lives of youth.  His messages have inspired young people to make positive changes, work harder in school, and in life.

 Joseph has become a sought after speaker and mentor. He has the versatility to speak in many settings including schools, churches, workshops, conferences, and even graduation ceremonies.  To him the most rewarding response has not been the many requests for him to speak.  The greatest reward has been that the youth he encounters often come back to hear him speak in other places and quote him word for word after hearing him just once.  His inspirational messages teach youth that it is truly not where you start but where you finish!  His life experiences demonstrate that even in the midst of obstacles, you can achieve great things.
